Facebook’s secret image recognition

When you upload any photograph to your Facebook account. It can determine what that picture is all about.

Whether you’re having a pizza or playing with a dog. Facebook can accurately figure it out from the photo itself.

To see that, just open any photo on Facebook. Like this.

Right-click on the image and select inspect.

Here you can see, “Image may contain: 3 people, people sitting and living room”.

Now let’s try with much more elements.

In this also you can see, “Image may contain: 20 people, people smiling, people standing and shoes”. *Totally accurate*

I’ve just posted these two examples only. But you can try this in much more chaotic backgrounds and still Facebook’s image recognition nails it.

It’s pretty interesting to see how far we’ve progressed in AI and Machine learning.

Update: This feature works whenever a picture doesn’t load due to slow internet connection.
